Colors4Caring Monday 4/4

Monday is Colors4Caring! All are encouraged to wear a color that represents a cancer in honor of a friend or loved one.

Pet-A-Palooza 4/23

Don't miss out on this great family event! WBE is hosting a Pet-A-Palooza on Saturday, 4/23. Families can showcase their pet and support local animal care and control. Lots of fun activities are planned. See the flyer here for more detailed information. Registration information is found here. Registration closes April 1st, but submitting a registration sooner than later is good for our planning purposes.

Book Fair and Events Coming Up

Spring Book Fair coming April 4-8th. Summer is just around the corner...time to stock up for summer reading.

Moms & Muffins will be from 7am-8am on April 6th for last names starting with A-L and April 7th for those starting with M-Z.

Family Literacy Night will be held Thursday, April 7th from 6-7:30pm.

Book Drive

During the week of Book Fair (April 4th - 8th) we will be collecting gently used books to donate to Common Ground Network's Feed the Kids for Summer & Summer Reading Program. This is a local program that benefits kids right here in Mansfield.


Books are needed for all levels, from toddler's board books through high school level.

Please bring any donations to the Willie Brown Book Fair in the library from April 4th - 8th. Students will receive a raffle ticket for each book donated and we will have a drawing the morning of Friday, April 8th for book fair goodies.

PTA Meeting

The WBE PTA will have a general meeting on Tuesday, 4/5 at 7:00 in the WBE library. Come out to find out the latest plans for supporting WBE students!

PreK and Kinder Round-Up

Is your child eligible to be enrolled in a Mansfield ISD pre-kindergarten or kindergarten class for the 2016-17 school year? Then join us for Pre-K & Kindergarten Roundup on Tuesday, April 12 at your child’s home elementary campus!


Pre-K & Kindergarten Roundup is a great way for parents and guardians to register their child early, tour the campus, participate in fun activities, receive necessary vaccinations, and gather valuable information for the start of the school year.

Parents and guardians can choose either of the following time slots to attend on April 12:

  • 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. OR
  • 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

A shot clinic will also be available for all MISD students to receive the required back-to-school immunizations. The clinic will take place at Alice Ponder Elementary School on Tuesday, April 12 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. View shot clinic details here.

Seeking Clothing Donations for MISD Clothes Closet

Calling all Willie Brown Parents.....The Mansfield Council of PTA's Clothes Closet is hosting their annual Clothes Drive until April 15th.

They are in need of the items listed below:
Toothpaste
Girl's size 16 underwear
Boy's size 10-12 or 14-16 Underwear

Please help us by participating this year. The MISD Clothes Closet provides free items to those in our community who are in need. We will have a donation box in the front office at Willie Brown for the above items! Thank you in advance for participating in our efforts to help support our community!

Count Me In!

To continue encouraging our students to be in full attendance at school and to make the best of the educational time, we are changing the incentives a bit! With the help of PTA, we will be rewarding 2 classes at the end of the six weeks. PreK, Kinder, and 1st grade classes are competing with each other to have the LEAST absences, tardies, early releases, and discipline referrals in the 5th six weeks. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classes are competing against each other. The winning classes will be rewarded with a pizza and drink party. Thank you for your efforts to have the kiddos make the most of their school day!
