June 2021 School of Hope Vermilion - Home School
Principal's Message
Good day everyone,
I’m sure you are happy that summer is fast approaching, and with it the chance to more easily enjoy God’s beautiful world! The end of June also brings us to the end of the school year of course.
I bring your attention to the list of important dates below.
A few highlights coming up:
June 4 - End of year Liturgy (more info below)
June 6 - Our first Career day, courtesy of the Hands of Hope club! They have organized
an afternoon where students can listen to speakers giving insights about their
respective careers. It is hoped that students may be inspired to find out more
about a prospective future career path. (more info below)
June 10 - Debate Club 2:45 PM Looking for an audience for this one! (more info below)
June 15 - Last day of live lessons
June 18 - Last day for assignment submission - 1 or 2 day extension may be possible if
pre-arranged with the teacher.
June 26 - Graduation ceremony (more info below)
We were obviously very disturbed by the recent finding of the remains of 215 children at the residential school in Kamloops. It is important to take a few moments to support our First Nations, Métis and Inuit brothers and sisters. We hope you take a moment to discuss this as a family. Below is a prayer that you may decide to use.
God Bless,
Michel Despins and Dwayne Coffey

2021 Census
We recognize this year has been very difficult for the education community, students and families. We have all shown tremendous resilience in weathering the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
With that being said, census information is important to all Canadians and is vital for planning schools, daycare, family services, and public transportation. Data from the 2021 Census will be even more crucial, because it will help all levels of government to evaluate the impact of the pandemic and to better plan for the future.
Please read the information below to complete your 2021 Census.

June - Did you know...
June was most likely named for the Roman goddess Juno, patroness of marriage and the well-being of women. Another interpretation says that the name came from the Latin juvenis, “young people,” who were celebrated at this time.
