Growing great minds
Gratitude
As I meet with parents I am so encouraged by the expectations, hopes and dreams we share for your child. I am grateful that we are a team and that together this year we can accomplish much. As we meet, I hope that you focus on the accomplishments, and reward those and ultimately, that you do not dwell on the areas that need improvement. That of course is my job, with just a little help from you.
Science
Working on those adaptations, I am attaching a link that may help if your child is struggling, but the main thing to remember is that a physical adaptation is something that an animal has to aid survival. And behavioral is what an animal does to survive and adapt to changing habitats. So a megabat has excellent eyesight (physical) but it is nocturnal (behavior).
Social Studies
We are completing a project on Native Americans and will begin our fantastic unit on Explorers on Monday. (The kids love this part)
Language Arts
We are working on fluency in some groups, I suggest students practice using recording devices.
Field Trip
Remember our first Field trip is next Wednesday. Don't forget to pack a lunch.
T Shirts
These came in but I am two short for some reason, so I will give those out as soon as I get them.
Pictures
Are from science-simulating bats pollinating plants and from the fireman's visit.
