Core Essentials
Each month we will have a new core value. Students will learn about the new word in their
weekly classroom meetings and discuss how they can use it to be amazing Farney Falcons!
May's Core Value is Perseverance!
Perseverance is refusing to give up when life gets hard.
Release of Information Forms
If you need Behavior Rating Scales completed or want the school to communicate with an outside entity, private tutor, doctor, etc., you will need to complete a Release of Information form for this school year. You can request this form through the counseling office. When asking teachers to complete Behavior Rating Scales, you will need to give one week’s notice to allow teachers ample time to complete the forms. These forms will be faxed directly to the doctor’s office and you will be notified once this is completed.
Mental Health Minute
May 8th Mental Health Minute Link
The Mental Health Minute is a biweekly newsletter provided by the Cy Fair Mental Health Team. It has lots of good information, tips and resources to help with mental health for parents and students.
Gifted and Talented Nominations
Horizons testing is now completed for grades 1-5. The results were sent home on April 4th. Students who qualified for the Horizons were given a permission form that needs to be returned to the counselor. Please contact Shannon Zepeda if you have any questions.

From the Nurse
From: Department of Health Services
As the end of the school year approaches, we would like to remind you to pick up any medications you provided to the school clinic this year. According to CFISD Board policy FFAC (local), medications must be retrieved from the clinic by a parent/guardian or designated responsible adult.
Please make arrangements to pick up your student’s medications by 05/26/2022 no later than 4:00 p.m.
Medications not collected by this deadline will be disposed of according to CFISD policy.
Thank you for your assistance,
Elizabeth Humphreys, RN
Attention Pre-K Parents: Students going into Kinder for the 2022-2023 school year must have vaccines (DTap, IPV, MMR, Varicella) after their 4th birthday. Please make sure to send an updated shot record for your child to the nurse (elizabeth.humphreys@cfisd.net) as soon as possible. Proof of immunizations must be documented for your child to be enrolled in Kinder.
Student Safety
Student safety is a top priority at Farney Elementary. If you plan to visit our school, please have your picture ID available every time you are here. When you ring the doorbell, front desk personnel will ask the nature of your visit. Please respond in the intercom. Once access is granted, please enter the security vestibule. Visitors are encouraged to wear a mask.
Lunch Visitors
K-5 parents and guardians are invited to visit during lunch. Any other visitors (grandparents, siblings, friends, etc.), must be accompanied by the parent or guardian or have a note giving them permission to eat with the child for each visit. In accordance with CFISD policy, school-age children are not permitted to visit the campus at any time. Due to food and nutrition guidelines, you may bring lunch for your child only. For your convenience, there are tables reserved for you to enjoy lunch with your child. Teachers will call the “Farney Five” at the end of lunch to signal when it is time for your child to say a quick goodbye and rejoin his/her class.
Important Reminder from the Cafeteria
Just a reminder that the cafeteria does not carry or dispense change. In the event a parent/student/visitor needs to pay with cash the overpayment is applied to the student's school cafe account. The district strongly encourages parents/legal guardians to utilize
School Cafe for all Nutrition Services payments.
