African PBL-Rainforests
Katie Skrepnek P4
Intro :)
The rainforests of Africa are home to nearly half the continents animals and some that are still unknown. There are hundreds, maybe even thousands of tribes that live in the rainforests. Africa is also home home to the second largest rainforest in the world, the Congo basin located in central Africa. More and more people are starting to move to the rainforests, which is getting many others to be very concerned about all of the construction and deforestation because it is starting to ruin the animals habitats.
Some of the animals in the Rainforests:
Gorilla
The gorilla is the largest ape in the world, weighing up to 450 pounds and are very strong. The gorilla families live on the floor of the rainforest and eat mostly vegetation.
Grey Parrot
Grey parrots are claimed to be one of the most intelligent birds in the world. The have a main diet of seeds, fruit and small animals/bugs. They are usually very calm creatures and can mimic the human voice.
Bushbuck Antelope
These animals got the name "Bushbuck" because if you scare or hurt them then they will go hide behind a bush and come charging and buck you with their horns, which makes them the most dangerous medium-sized antelope.
