Special Edition: Transition to High School and Beyond
Resources to Help Plan for High School and College & Career Readiness
Parents, our counselors have been meeting with our 8th grade students helping them register for their upcoming freshman year in high school. Last week, we took them to MacArthur High School for a presentation over the courses and programs available to them beginning next school year. Last evening, MacArthur held a parent meeting and presentation of their high school dual language program. Next Monday, your child will be able to attend the high school course fair at Mac, which will showcase the electives and fine arts programs that Mac has to offer your child.
There were some good questions that several of our parents and students asked last evening, regarding class rank, the graduation plan, AP exams, and college & career readiness.
I have compiled several resources that will help you learn more about the transition to high school and beyond, and the topics listed above. I hope this information will clarify the questions you asked at the dual language parent meeting, if you attended that, and/or will provide you with more knowledge to assist your child in registering for his/her high school courses. If you should have questions, contact our counseling department at 210-356-3866.
Sincerely,
John A. Bojescul
