Rake 'n Run - Save the Date!
Rake ‘n Run will take place this year on Saturday, October 24th from 9 am - 11 am (weather pending).
Rake ‘n Run is an annual event that gets the whole community involved. We assist neighbors in the immediate Elmwood neighborhood who are unable to rake due to a new baby, a health issue or advanced age. Sacrificing just a couple hours of our time can make such an impact for our neighbors! It is also a great way to get the kids involved in volunteering and teaching them how to be a caring community beyond the walls of Elmwood! One grateful recipient wrote a thank you note last year, saying “This was such a help to me, and I want you to know I appreciate EVERYONE!”
We are still planning on doing our annual Rake ‘n Run, just with a few COVID-style changes this year. Do you know someone in the neighborhood who could use some help with raking their fall leaves? In an effort to reduce contact, we are relying on the Elmwood community, as well as knowledge of previous houses we have helped, to make our list this year. If you know of someone who could use assistance, please email us at elmwoodsfcp@gmail.com or call the Elmwood office at 630-420-6341.
Volunteers are needed! If your family is interested in volunteering to help rake, please also email us at elmwoodsfcp@gmail.com. Thank you!
