Thanks...
Thanks to everyone for taking the time to attend Parent/Teacher Conferences. It's always great to meet with you to discuss your child's successes. Thanks, too, to the parents who donated items and helped out at the Valentine Party. As usual, the kids had a blast! I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's Day and a restful long weekend!

This Week's Fun...
*We'll wrap up our study of weather in science.
*The sight words "are" and "they" will be introduced.
*We'll begin Topic 10 in math...composing and decomposing numbers 11-19.
*We'll begin Unit 5 in our reading series. This unit will encompass the Social Studies theme of family and national celebrations.
*We'll begin a study of the work of author Mo Willems during Writer's Workshop.
Important Dates...
*Thursday, Feb. 18: "Breakfast and Books" for Kindergarten and first grade girls from 7:45-8:30. Bring a book, your breakfast, and Mom or Dad, and enjoy some quiet reading time in the library before school!

*Tuesday, Feb. 23: Early dismissal at 2:00
*Thursday, Feb. 25: Library check out
*Friday, Feb. 26: PSE Silent Auction and Parent Social
