From the desk of Ms. Choo

Hello High School Families

We hope that you enjoyed the fall break! These last three weeks before the end of the year are going to fly by quickly. Please be sure to check in with your students to ensure that they are on track to complete the semester on time. Your child should be 90% complete with all of their course this week. It is very important that students follow the pacing timeline.

Our teacher's DBA appointments are quickly filling up. If your student is having difficulty scheduling time, encourage them to reach out to the teacher to find out about times that might open up due to cancellations.

If you would like for your child's photo to be included in the 2022-2023 Yearbook and have not yet had the picture taken, please join us for the make-up Picture Day on December 6th. There is no sitting fee, but school pictures may be purchased separately from the yearbook.

Please RSVP for the December 15th High School Headquarters and let us know you will be attending! We will be celebrating the winter holidays, and having a lot of fun before the end of the semester.

Meet our New Principal, Ms. Rebecca Jarke

We are very pleased to announce that Ms. Jarke, our new Pasco eSchool principal, has begun her journey with us this month. Our school staff welcomed her to the team during our December 1st faculty meeting. Ms. Jarke is excited to meet our eSchool ninjas and families during the upcoming school events!

Mid Year Assessments

The schedule has been created for mid-year FAST testing. You will be receiving a letter from our team with specific information about dates and times for English grades 9 or 10 sessions. The December test will continue to be remote for high school students. As a reminder, the May test will be mandatory and in-person here at eSchool headquarters on the Crews Lake Middle School campus.

Florida Required Instruction

The State Board of Education works with Florida school districts to develop and monitor plans to provide required instruction through section 1003.42 (2)(n), Florida Statutes. More information about the topics included, as well as Pasco County Schools' plan for implementation, please visit our district's website. A table listing topics, as well as grade levels required to have each topic presented, is attached below.

These topics are embedded into some subjects and courses, and others will be presented through homeroom announcements, special activities, and standalone modules.

Attendance Matters

Attendance Matters

In Pasco eSchool's secondary program attendance in class is demonstrated by submitting work within a 7-day period. Attendance is entered into our student tracking system, myStudent, every Thursday and parents will receive an automated call if a student has not completed at least one assignment in each class.

The goal of these calls is to share this information with parents so they can help students get back on track.

For students who have longer periods of time without work submissions, parents can expect our team to reach out through phone calls and emails, schedule parent conferences, require students to attend virtual extended school day, require students to work on our school's campus, and other attendance interventions.

Our goal is to work with families to ensure that all students are successful learners.

Below is a link to the excused absence form for students who may need an absence excused.
