As Penny Road begins opening for parents and school events are on the horizon, we are in need of registered volunteers. There are events happening in the coming weeks and months that will provide the opportunity to volunteer at the school. Please come to the front office as soon as possible during school hours to register, or contact Sarah Hicks at shicks@wcpss.net to verify your volunteer status. Thank you for your support!

Hello Pandas, 4th grade is collecting aluminum tabs that are found on the top of soup, soda, and many other types of cans. These tabs will be donated at the end of the school year to the Ronald McDonald House in Durham. They recycle the tabs for money. They use the money to help cover the cost for families to stay at the house. We appreciate your consideration and support in helping us make our community a better place. You can drop off tabs to room 306, thank you.

Mrs. Binnick, our art teacher, is in need of baby wipes for the art room! If anyone could send some to school she would greatly appreciate it. Any brand, any size pack. Our kids go through a load of these during art time.

HOWDY PARTNERS! Can you believe that Penny Road's famous Spring Carnival is just around the corner!? We are so excited for Penny to get back in the saddle on May 20th from 5-8pm - it's going to be a hee-hawing good time! One piece of the carnival fundraiser is our online Silent Auction and it goes live tomorrow. Have a look and bid on all the items that you love. The silent auction is totally online this year and will end on May 20th before the carnival begins. Winners can present payment verification from 7:30pm-8pm.on May 20th and pick up any items at the carnival that evening (or make arrangements for another pick-up time). Look for the Silent Auction Pick Up Sign in the back of the school outside the building, near the gym doors. You do not need to attend the carnival to bid or win, just reach out to prespringcarnival@gmail.com to arrange another pick up the following week.

Keep an eye out for more information on our beloved themed raffle baskets, including teacher experiences, which will both be available in person. More information on basket preview to come. Don't forget to purchase your raffle tickets ahead of time for a special pre-order price!
