Let's make the most of this valuable planning time by finishing up your plan and being prepared to share your work this week with your colleagues.
Reflecting on Your Workshop- Am I pulling small groups & conferring?
Remember, it’s not important that every conference and small group be perfect– it is most important that we actually do them! This develops a sense of expectation supportive of growth. If I know my teacher will be working with me soon, I understand there is an expectation that I am working to improve. And that’s what my teacher is here to help me do!"

I will be checking with everyone this week to confirm.
Best Practice: Posting Student Writing
Best Practice: Science..... Don't forget Notebooking!
The next step is making sure our kids have time to write about what they are doing in science. Last year in our Science PD cycle we focused on Notebooking so be sure to include this in your science unit work this Fall.
Here are some awesome notebooking ideas from the Academy of Science education website:

Best Practice: Goal Setting & Positive Reinforcement as a Tier II Behavior Strategy
Through this simple goal chart on the student's desk, the student is building her own ability to prompt herself without the teacher having to call out every few minutes. It also allows other adults who come in the room to positively reinforce her. The student chose her incentive as "lunch with Ms. Schenker". A free, easy, relationship building incentive for her and pretty sweet that what she chose to spend more time with her teacher....

PE Reporting- Process Change
Process Change:
- At the end of each month all principals and all teachers will automatically receive an email from Informed K12 (formerly known as Chalk Schools*) that contains a link to that month’s report forms. Principals will no longer have to send out the teachers’ report themselves each month.
Benefits:
- Principals and teachers will no longer need to log into the Informed K12* website or search for URL links to submit their report forms.
- Principals will know that all of their teaching staff have received their monthly report forms.
