Where Excellence is the Standard - Week of August 29, 2022
Principal's Message
Dear Randle Lions,
Wow, I cannot believe we have already finished the first week of the new year. We are excited to welcome new faces and families to the campus daily.
Parents and students have been reaching out with schedule change requests. I wanted to share the following information. We will closely monitor all schedule change requests. To qualify for a schedule change, the request must fall under the one of the 7 LCISD Handbook reasons (page 18) listed below. Please do not email your counselors that changes are not being made.
Schedule change requests will ONLY be considered for the following reasons:
A. Student is a senior not scheduled in a course needed for graduation
B. Student has already earned credit for a course in which he/she is currently scheduled
C. Student does not have prerequisite(s) for a class on his/her schedule
D. Student has previously failed a course with the same teacher
E. Student has been dismissed from a program where approval must be granted for placement
F. Student does not have a complete schedule
G. Data error (no lunch, class listed twice, free period, etc.,)
Lamar CISD makes a concerted effort to avail all programs to students; however, some courses may not be available due to staffing and class size.
The counselors will be calling students in in the order they receive requests. Please be patient and know a counselor will call for them and will also be in contact with you. We want this to be a collaborative face to face process with you and your child.
For the 2022-2023 school year, all required Lamar Consolidated ISD beginning-of-year forms must be completed online through the Skyward Family Access Center. By offering these forms digitally, it is meant to allow you the convenience of updating information that has changed from last school year, while also helping us maintain accurate information in our student information system. Instructions, important dates and technical assistance regarding the online forms are below.
Instructions for Completing Online Forms:
Completing the Beginning of Year online forms through Skyward Family Access is very easy and will take just a few minutes. Below are your steps for completing these forms:
- Click on the Family Access login button to the right.
- Login with your LCISD Family Access credentials.
- Click on the Beginning of Year Forms link in the Family Access main menu.
- Complete each step, making changes as necessary, and clicking the “Complete Step X” button at the bottom of each form.
- Once all forms are complete, click the “Submit Beginning of Year Forms” button on the last page.
Finally, this week we will be holding class meetings Monday through Wednesday during third period. During this time we will review district and campus expectations. Students will be introduced to all pertinent staff members for their class. Administration will also be visiting Social Studies classes Monday -Thursday to have smaller sessions to discuss in more details students behavioral expectations.

PICTURE ID SMART TAG REQUIRED FOR ALL LCISD STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES!
This year, as an increase to our safety measures, students and staff are required to wear their identification badge at all times. Student badges will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card. This will happen during the first week!
We will also provide all students and staff with an emergency safety card to be worn with their ID Badge. This requirement is just one of several new safety additions that we are incorporating this year. The safety card contains Lamar CISD's Standard Response Protocol, important emergency numbers, as well as a QR code that links directly to the District's anonymous tip line. Badges will be distributed with student SMART Tags.
In addition, the Communications team has produced a safety video for you to share with your campus community and families that highlights the safety standards that have been in place and what additions have been implemented this year.
Cell Phone Policy
Your child's education is of the utmost importance to us, therefore we want to place a priority on minimizing distractions. Beginning Monday, August 22, 2022, Randle High School has instituted a no cell phone policy during class.
Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school and are allowed to use them before school, during lunch, and after school. Phones should not be visible and in use between passing periods or during class, unless students are provided permission by the teacher.
For clarification, cell phones can be in the student's possession, but the phone must be put away during the instruction. If a student has their cell phone visible, without teacher/staff member permission, they will be asked to give their cell phone to the teacher/staff member. They will receive their cell phone at the end of the day from the front office. The following information will be posted in every classroom:
- Phones must be put away at ALL TIMES during instructional time, unless there is an instructional purpose GIVEN by the teacher. If you refuse to follow this expectation, it will result in a discipline referral. (NOTE: Phones are allowable before 8:15 AM, during the student's 30-minute lunch time, and after 3:40 PM.)
- Ignoring a teacher or staff member when they ask that to put away your cell phone will result in a discipline referral.
- All students must have their planner hall pass signed by a teacher to be out of their scheduled class. Students without a pass will receive a discipline referral.
- Instigating, participating, or video recording any type of altercation, harassing/bullying, or any other student code of conduct offenses with your cell phone will result in a discipline referral and possible alternative school placement.
Please know that educating our Randle High School students is our number one priority, and we place a precedence on having a safe and secure school. We appreciate your support and partnership in maintaining an environment and culture where learning is the focus.
COVID-19 Protocols
COVID-19 NOTIFICATIONS AS A MEASURE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, WE WILL CONTINUE TO NOTIFY ALL TEACHERS, STAFF, AND FAMILIES OF ALL STUDENTS IN A CLASSROOM, EXTRACURRICULAR OR AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM IF A POSITIVE TEST CONFIRMED COVID CASE IS IDENTIFIED AMONG STUDENTS AND STAFF, CONSISTENT WITH DISTRICT NOTIFICATION AND LEGAL CONFIDENTIALITY REQUIREMENTS FOR OTHER COMMUNICABLE DISEASES.

Our goal is to ensure that all students get to campus safely and on time. Adhering to the appropriate drop off area will assist in a smooth and safe drop off. Parents who have students at both Randle HS and Wright can drop their students off in the areas where the black dots are located. Cones will be out to help direct traffic.
Please do not hesitate to contact the campus if there are any questions. Let's make this year a year to remember! #RISE&GRIND
