FEBRUARY 12, 2016

Happy Valentine’s Day! This is a very special time in an elementary school! It is such fun to watch students open their cards and experience the joy that comes from each and every one. Why not take a few moments and “share the love” with your child’s teachers? A handwritten note of appreciation means more than the most expensive gift you can buy. We are so fortunate to have an amazingly talented and caring group of educators at Hershey. Please help me let them know you notice and appreciate their hard work.

We will not have school on President’s Day. I hope you are able to enjoy this time with your family!

Student Council: It is such a pleasure to work with a great group of students! For Valentine's Day, Student Council has created conversational hearts and placed them throughout the hallway. As you walk through the halls, keep an eye out for these special hearts.

Something to think about.....As I work with students I often talk to them about empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand how someone else is feeling regarding a certain situation. Teaching our children about empathy is so important for positive growth and development. One website I find helpful is Empowering Parents. This website has wonderful articles and information for parents. www.empoweringparents.com
