GJSHS 2019-2020 Registration Night

It's time to register for the 2019-2020 school year! Wednesday, May 1, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., incoming 8th - 12th grade students will meet with staff to review their 6-year plans, graduation requirements, and a-g requirements for CSU and UC schools.

Happy Earth Day!!

The TK/K class collected 314 pens and markers throughout the year at IVES to be recycled with the Crayola ColorCycle Program. Miss Cairns and Mrs. Kingdon's classes went to Wolf Creek to field journal and collect trash.

IVES Annual Egg Drop

Thank you to PG&E and Fritz Barr for bringing out a boom truck for our annual egg drop! Students were tasked with engineering something to keep their eggs from breaking. Not all were successful, but they all enjoyed the event!

Masonic Public Schools Awards Night

Last Thursday, the Masonic Lodge in Susanville, which now includes the Greenville lodge, held its annual Public Schools Night. We honored Kooper Clark and Emma Sordi for their outstanding work as students at IVES and GJSHS. Both of these students not only do a wonderful job in the classroom, but they are both actively involved in making our schools better every day. We also recognized Heidi Kingdon (not pictured) and Denise Cadicamo for their consistent support of and dedication to the students and IVES and GJSHS.

Snow Days/School Closure

With all of the winter weather we have had in the last couple of months, we want to clarify closure/make up days for each community.

Greenville (all schools): One built in closure/make up day has been used to date, so school will be in session on Friday May 24th. If additional delayed starts are necessary, minimum days will be extended to regular hours.

Chester (all schools): All built in closure/make up days were used, so school will be in session on both Friday, April 12th and Friday May 24th. We will apply for a waiver from the state for the additional four days.

Portola (all schools): All built in closure/make up days were used, so school will be in session on both Friday, April 12th and Friday May 24th. We will apply for a waiver from the state for the additional day.

Quincy (all schools): One built in closure/make up day has been used to date, so school will be in session on Friday May 24th.

Are you receiving school announcements?

We are moving from School Messenger to Aeries Communication for school announcements. If you have not been receiving messages regarding school closure or delayed starts, you may need to update your contact information. IVES needs BOX TOPS!

Send your Box Tops in with students or drop them by the IVES office. The money we receive from the Box Tops goes right back into the classrooms! Thank you for your assistance!

A Note from Our District Nurse

We Need Your Help

We receive Title I and other federal funding for our school based on the number of students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Because of the grant PUSD received to have all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, many families have not completed the confidential income verification form. This can be done easily through your parent portal or we have forms available in each school office. We use these funds for extra interventions for our students, including a classroom paraprofessional who works directly with students. Thank you for completing the form to help us to secure the additional funding.

About Us

Indian Valley Elementary School and Greenville Junior/Senior High School are in beautiful western Plumas County. We serve the students of Indian Valley, which includes the communities of Greenville, Crescent Mills, Taylorsville, and Canyon Dam. We are essentially a K-12 school since we are located on one large campus where we share several facilities.
