Collegiate Academy at TCC Northeast

September 18, 2022

Phoenix Family,

This year’s CA Open House was a tremendous success! Our students were excited to show off their clubs, organizations and UIL teams. We appreciate all of our TCC NE partners who attended to share information and mingle with the Phoenix Family. We celebrated our TEA Rating and were encouraged to be part of the Phoenix Family Booster Club. If you haven’t joined please scroll down to the Booster club entry and join TODAY! We need you. The end of the first nine weeks is October 14. We will be hosting Friday school on September 30 for all students to get caught up or need additional support! Our goal this year is Every Student, Every Day to Win the Day!

As the weather gives us a hint of fall, I can’t wait for the HOCO Dance on October 7 and the Fall Festival on November 4. I love it when the Phoenix Family comes together!

Always grateful,

Ms. Knutz

PSAT Testing | Pre-administration

Collegiate Academy will be administering the PSAT on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 for all students in grades 9-12, free of charge. Next week, CA students will be conducting pre-administration during their Pathways class. Holding a pre-administration in advance of test day allows students to fill out their identifying information on the answer sheets early to reduce extra test day activities.

Car Rider Pick-up Update

Beginning on Monday, September 19th, students who are car riders will be released through the east doors of our building for after school pickup only. The east doors exit to the parking lot in the back of the Collegiate Academy building. To pick up your student, you will turn left at the light on Tarrant County College road. After you enter the parking lot, you will turn right and circle around to the east entrance, and finally exit the parking lot. We will also have teachers and staff helping to direct traffic. Please see the map below:

Covid 19 and Meningitis Vaccine

COVID

If a student tests positive for COVID, please complete this form to report their case to the District. An email will be generated back to the family stating when their 5 day isolation period is complete, and may return.

Meningitis Vaccine

TCC requires a Bacterial Meningitis Vaccine every 5 years for anyone under the age of 22. This vaccine booster can not be given until the student turns 16. Please send me the updated record once received. I will update Skyward and send a copy to TCC so there is not a hold if the Meningitis vaccine is due when they register for classes.

Constitution Day

Bobbe Knutz

Sept. 17th - Constitution Day

Did you know that September 17th is a special day in our country? It’s Constitution Day - an important day set aside to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. Collegiate Academy celebrated the birthday of our nation’s government on Friday, September 16th with curriculum aligned lessons incorporating the Constitution in social studies classes. Constitution Day is intended to celebrate not only the signing of what is now the oldest written constitution of any nation in the world, but also the important ideals that set us apart as Americans. This weekend and always, we invite you to reflect with your student on their learning and, especially, on their understanding of the U.S. Constitution and American citizenship.

CA - Calendar of Events

Sept. 19th: Car riders pick up at East Door (back parking lot)
