Book Fair
Dear Parents and Families:
We’re excited to announce our upcoming fall Scholastic Book Fair. This event is an opportunity for students to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. After missing out on many beloved traditions, our fall Book Fair will be a familiar, welcome, and safe event for our students. It’s also a great time to purchase some holiday gifts as well. As always, all purchases benefit our school.

Each month this year we will have a school wide character trait focus. Our focus for the month of November is Gratitude! We are talking about Gratitude in the context of feeling grateful even for tough or challenging things in our life. We will talk about what we are grateful for in ourselves and in others. Here is the definition we are using:
Gratitude: Choosing to notice and appreciate things in our life, things in others, and things in the world.
Click on the links below for more information about how you can incorporate gratitude at home!

Tuesday 11/16 is Virtual STEM+Families night, sponsored by PTA, FRC and Title 1 with grant money from Bayer. If you sent in an RSVP you will get a note home this week letting you know if your RSVP came in time - be on the lookout for it!
Saturday 12/4, 7-10am, is our annual Breakfast with Santa at Hometown Pizza in LaGrange! It is a PTA program run thanks to 5th grade helpers. Mark your calendars - more details to come!
Teacher & Staff Holiday gifts: looking for an affordable way to say thank you to your child(ren)'s teacher(s) and other staff in the building? Be part of our first annual Special Gift Giving where, for $5, you can help buy a teacher/staff person a shirt/sweater/pull-over that they have chosen. For every $5, your student's name will go in the box with the special gift. Teachers & staff will receive their gift on 12/13 so your child will get to see what they helped purchase before we all take a break for winter. Flyer will be sent home 11/15, keep an eye out!
Reflection entries are incredible! The date for judging has not yet been set but the goal is to have the artwork judged before Thanksgiving break. It will definitely be completed before 12/15 and by that date the artists will be notified if their artwork is moving on this year. Thanks for encouraging your kiddos to bring their inner artist out!
The PTA will be providing the staff with a treat in December and are in need of a few extra items. If you would like to help out and donate an item please sign up below.

LES PTA could use your help. Our Winter Wonderland will be coming up in December. This is a special secret surprise to our students. We are in need of several decorations to transform the school into a special Winter Wonderland. An Amazon wish list has been created of decorations that are desired. Any generosity is greatly appreciated. If you would like to help out and send something in, just mark PTA and drop off at the office. We would like to keep this a surprise for the students.
