Response
Epic and Romantic Hero’s have many difference, because they have to rely on each other to stay motivated throughout their own quests. An Epic Hero is above the average person. They are not normal whether it is extraordinary strength, smarts, or bravery. Usually they have some relation to God’s or higher beings, however lives among mortals. The main plot of the story is mainly around the Epic Hero’s quest where he faces lots of trials that ultimately teaches him different lessons that serves as the reasoning for the quest in the first place. The Epic Hero differs from the Romantic Hero, because the Romantic Hero is also on a quest, however their upbringing is different. They feel rejected by society and like an outcast. They could have an obsession with lost love that they want to find or fulfill.
Both Hero’s are necessary because there would not be a plot without them. The Epic Hero is the one who the plot line is captivated on, but without the Romantic Hero the Epic Hero would not have the drive and motivation to continue on his quest and fight to persevere until the end. The Romance is necessary because it serves as hope to the Epic Hero, as well as makes the plot have more depth and be more interesting to a viewer.
