George School's Family Update

October 9, 2017

Welcome to October!

It was another great week to be a Cardinal here at Jessie F. George School! This week we joined the rest of our educational family across the state of New Jersey in acknowledging and participating in our "Week of Respect". Our thanks to Mrs. Guyt for coordinating our week of activities as we demonstrate our unity to remind us how we should treat each other all year long. As a follow up to these activities, this week on Thursday, October 12th, we will welcome the "Holly Rock Quiz Show", to continue our 'no nonsense' approach to 'no bullying'. Thank you to our PSO for sponsoring this assembly. All students should wear their George School wear or school colors on Thursday as we welcome this event on our George School Spirit Day. Thank you in advance to our Peer Pals for helping with the Kind Cardinal ticket tallies in front of our assembly.

I also want to thank the Peer Pals for their help with Morning Line Up. Drop off in the morning has been smooth sailing due to their help and for their continual modeling of exemplary behavior. Thank you for being good role models.

A Few Drop off/Pick Up Reminders

With the exception of Red Flag Days, drop off and pick up are through the back doors and black top, except for Kindergarten which is through the side door. Pick up and parking in the front present congestion and a safety hazard for buses at dismissal. Also, a reminder that there are no visitor spots this year due to our increased staff. All numbered spots are assigned to our staff members, many of whom travel between schools and need to park in their spots when they arrive to teach our students. Thank you for your consideration with this.

On Red Flag Days, I will send an email and tweet a "Red Flag Alert" , in addition to posting the flags. We will also leave the Gym door open so students may also enter through this entrance alleviating some of the drop off congestion.
