The coffee and cake roadshow
Developing relationships, sharing practice and problems!
Is this a project for you? Or do you know someone in your team that might benefit?
The coffee and cake project aims to work with staff in developing three key elements; relationships, practice and problems. This will allow staff from different areas to interact with each other over coffee and cake! The project aims to work for staff in their time, making use of that coffee you grab - lets do it with other staff!
It's simple, easy, and connective. Some of the greatest moments are shared off the cuff and can have the biggest impact. Sometimes a little bit of reassurance is all that is needed to encourage a great plan!
Relationships...
Allowing staff to build on the relationships they already have, and network with other staff that they might not already know, yet have lots in common with!
Practice...
Problems...
We all have these, some bigger than others, but all the same it needs some resolve. This gives staff the opportunity to share and deal with the daily issues, or the bigger annual stuff we face as teachers!
This project will be initially focusing on two areas!
The two main focuses initially are Maths and BTEC, here's why...
Maths - it has become apparent that some staff are now not just teaching their 'specialist' area but are developing functional skills maths. This is no easy task - lets help each other out with this!
BTEC - If you live in the land of BTEC then you know that the changes to the qualification have had an impact on the way courses are structured, and the way in which the courses are assessed. So lets support the staff and changes by sharing what we know (or think)!
A little about the Pass It On member organising things...
