June 19 Message

Equity Work at Skyview

As we end the 2019-20 school year and prepare for the next year, I want to share the following statement with you regarding our continued commitment to the Skyview Learning Community.

2020-21 School Year

The 2020-21 School year starts September 1, 2020. Following guidelines from The Office Of The Superintendent of Public Instructions (OSPI), VPS released information on Monday, June 15th, regarding returning to school in the fall. You can view that information here: . We are committed to returning to “traditional” in-person school as soon as possible while keeping students and staff safe.

Summer Office Hours

The Skyview main office will be answering phones through June 30th from 7:00 am - 2:00 pm. The office will be closed during the month of July and return on August 3rd.

English Advanced Placement and Honors Students

If you signed up for Honors English 10, AP English Language, or AP English Literature, please look for an email from Ms. Annis next Monday with your summer reading/writing assignments. You will also be able to find a link to these assignments on Skyview's AP page starting on Monday. We look forward to reading and writing with you over the summer, and meeting you in the fall!

Summer School

  • July 6-July 24 (Mon-Friday 8:30-12:00)

  • Teachers will be available via Zoom or email

  • Students will be continuing with remote learning format

Yearbook Update

Unfortunately, due to backups by our yearbook printer, we anticipate a mid to late August delivery. As soon as we have more information on an exact date, we will communicate plans for distributing the yearbooks to students. We apologize for this inconvenience.

New Special Education Resource HUB

We have some pretty exciting news to share! In an effort to continue to provide supports to families, the VPS Special Services Department has developed a Google Site! The Special Education Resource Hub is for families and our community to access as we all navigate these new waters together.
