Health and safety states that to maintain health and wellbeing, staff must take their breaks in the middle of their shift in accordance the SFH local agreement. Therefore, it is mandatory to take your “unpaid break”.
Please note that staff cannot ‘tag’ the breaks onto the end of a shift to leave early nor can they be paid for them.
0 – 4 hours at work = no break
4 – 6 hours at work = 20 minutes break
6 – 8 hours at work = 30 minutes break
