REGION 1 Parent Group

Welcome to another year at NCVA. I am Sherry Forbes your region 1 parent group coordinator. This is my second year with NCVA. I have two students enrolled in NCVA this year. I look forward to meeting as many region 1 families as possible this year.

This year in addition to our regional "Adventure days" (former meet & greet) we would like to have families get together for activities such as bowling, movies, ice cream socials or a picnic in the park. If you have any suggestions of somewhere in your area please email me at I would also like parents to send me an e-mail of where they are located in region 1 so that we can properly plan outings for all students in region 1.

If any parents would be interested, I am looking for one or two more parent helpers in Region 1 to help check emails, attend volunteer Class Connect sessions and coordinate outings. Thank you and have a wonderful school year!

~Sherry Forbes

REGION 2 Parent Group

My name is Nick Arbia. I am the NCVA Region 2 parent/LC volunteer group organizer/liaison. I have a six year old in 1st grade. This is our second year with NCVA. We live in Leland, in Brunswick County, NC.

I hope you are having a great start to the new school year. After hearing from some of you I decided the easiest and most efficient way to stay in touch and share ideas and events would be a Facebook group. Here is the link:

Currently this is an open public group. That is the easiest way for multiple people to join at once. As soon as all of you have joined It will be made secret and available through invitation only. This ensures our privacy and safety.

The Facebook group may be used by all members. Anyone may post. All post MUST be related to NCVA, or other educational opportunities only. I also welcome occasional motivational, inspiring and funny post or memes. Feel free to ask questions, share ideas or just get to know each other.

I look forward to sharing ideas in our group and meeting in person soon!

~Nick Arbia

REGION 3 Parent Group

WELCOME to the Region 3 Parent Group!

I’m Sonya Resnick, one of the volunteers for Region 3. My family is beginning our fourth year at NCVA: Our twin daughters, Claire and Danielle, are in fifth grade, and our son Benjamin is in third grade. I am a full-time mom and Learning Coach, and my husband Ken owns AHC Group, an insurance brokerage that he runs from his home office. As you can see, we are a pretty silly group.

I am so excited to be taking part in the Regional Parent Group for Region 3, and I look forward to meeting other NCVA families in our area. Our region will publish a monthly newsletter with a few regular columns: tips and tricks for a successful year at NCVA, suggestions for PE, and a list of festivals and other events in and around our region. If you can think of other suggestions for columns or would like to contribute to the newsletter, please email us at .
