Why did the Texans actually hate Reconstruction?
The hatred for Reconstruction by Texans
Many Texans hated the idea of reconstruction. Mostly because of the 13th admendment and because of the Black Codes. Texans held rebellions, and some fights. Even though Texas refused to adopt the 13th amendment, President Johnson still accepted Texas back into the U.S. anyway.
Why did Texans have a hated for carpetbaggers?
Because they tried to make a profit from the Reconstruction. Texans knew they had it easy before they came to the South.
My opinion on Democrats or Redeemers.
I honestly go for the Redeemers. They fight for state, because of their determination to save Texas. They kept repeating "I won't be Reconstructed", which shows their determination to save Texas from Reconstruction
