Weston Newsletter
February/March 2020
Attention, Attention...Kindergarten registration is coming soon!
Hello Weston Families,
February is here and March is around the corner! February is Kindness Month! Have fun doing kind acts with your child. March is Reading Month! Your child will bring the March Reading Month Calendar home near the end of February. The calendar is filled with many fun activities that promote reading. We will hold a Reading Night on March 26 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Reading Night will have multiple activities and pizza for dinner. Our theme this year is "Reading is an Ocean of Fun!"
February is a special month to celebrate diversity. At Weston, we pride ourselves in showing kindness and being accepting of everyone. February is a time to celebrate and learn from our history. Together, we are always better!
As March brings on Spring, it is still very important to send your child with warm gear. A winter jacket is still a must. We all know that Michigan weather can change abruptly, so please be sure to send your child with a warm jacket even if it’s somewhat warm in the morning.
As Kindergarten registration is here, we are excited for more students to join our Weston Family! Please see registration dates and times below.
Warm Regards,
Douglas Hibbs, Weston Principal
Principal's academic piece:
A quick one this month. Be sure to read with your child daily. Read to them while they are in your lap. Read with them, taking turns and being interactive. Allow them to read to you. The first step in the reading process is enjoyment - show your child the enjoyment books can bring!
Registration will begin in the middle of March!
- Wednesday, March 18th: 9 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 7
- Thursday, March 19th: 9 to 11:30 and 1:30 to 5:30
- Saturday, March 21st: 10 to 3
Please bring your child's birth certificate, 3 proofs of residency, immunization records, hearing and vision screening and a parents drivers license.
School of Choice students should register at this time and then apply for a School Of Choice Application in May.
Welcome to the Weston (and Kearsley) Family!
