Alert Level 2 Update

Kia ora,

It is pleasing to see how New Zealanders are responding to this latest outbreak by getting tested if unwell, and staying home.

While most of us are familiar with requirements at Alert Level 2, we will continue to emphasise the importance of:

  • Good hand hygiene and cough and sneeze etiquette

  • Staying away if sick

  • Keeping the appropriate physical distance from others

  • Cleaning and disinfecting our high touch surfaces daily

  • Displaying QR code posters at our entrances and encouraging all of our community to download the NZ COVID Tracer App and use it if they come on-site

  • Keeping a visitor register for anyone who enters our school site

We know all these things will help to keep our community as safe as possible. Because of these measures being in place, your child does not need to wear a face covering while at school.

Sports - Both basketball and netball will be going ahead as of this week, please see the attached documents for further alert level 2 requirements if your child is involved in the basketball or netball competitions.

PLEASE NOTE - Thursday 20th and Friday 21st August are teacher only days this week. We will not be providing lessons or supervision for any student on these days as our staff are involved in professional development.

Thank you for your continued support for all we are doing to keep our community safe.

Hawera Basketball Association

Just a reminder that ALL the Hawera Basketball Programs and games will be operating but under new guidelines to ensure we keep our numbers well under 100 at any given time.

ENTRY/EXIT - Parents are to drop off their players at the front entrance (Camberwell Road entrance) and they will be escorted into the building with their Teacher/Coach. After their round they will be escorted out of the building to the (Waihi Road Car park) exit and parents can pick their kids up there. A HBA staff member will wait with the coaches for all the players of that round to be collected.

If you are waiting for your round next, please if possible wait in your car and then proceed to find your coach at the door before entering. There will be a Hawera Basketball Staff member waiting to let people in through the front entrance.

For more information please see the Hawera Basketball Association facebook page.

Netball Taranaki

After the Government’s decision to stay at Alert Level 2, Netball will return from Monday 17th August under mandatory restrictions and draw changes to ensure that our community is safe, compliant and has time to understand and manage its obligations.
