June is Here!
I hope everyone had a great long weekend. The weather was beautiful here in the Chicago area. A special thank you to everyone for the awesome turnout at the Night of Stars. It is always a lot of fun to get together with everyone. A big congrats to our two retirees, Nancy Cozza and Claudia Steinbrecher.
This week our 4th graders will head to the little red school house for some authentic frontier learnin. Make sure to grab a picture of Amy, Jeanne, and Chase in their frontier attire.
Also, the 4th quarter DCA window begins on Tuesday. There is no DCA for K-1. Other grades please administer the DCA for ELA and Math as your schedule warrants.
I will be out of town in Kalamazoo Michigan MI with Dr. Lubelfeld at the Humanex Impact and Legacy Summit on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Svetlana will be in all week if you need anything. Otherwise, I will still be reading and responding to email and if you need anything from me you can always give me a call.
Have a great week!
Habit 6 - Synergize
Habit 6 Synergize is not just about teamwork. Teamwork is great and necessary but synergy goes a step further.
Synergy is about coming together in ideas, effort, etc. to change the equation. Hence, 1+1=3. It is about getting something more and entirely new from cooperating, sharing, and working together.
There are many great examples of synergy from sports, business, and numerous other areas. One of my favorite examples is the video below. It is worth an entire watch as it takes you inside the cockpit of the Blue Angels. Simple teamwork is not enough to accomplish what these men and women do. They fly at speeds of up to 700 mph at a distance of sometimes only 18 inches apart. The result is one of the most visually stunning examples of teamwork and synergy.
The video is 360 so you can navigate the directional icon in the corner to give you a view surrounding the cockpit.
