Islam
The followers of Islam are called Muslims. The Beliefs of Muslims are: Belief in Allah, Belief in Angels, Belief in the Prophets, Belief in the Holy Book, Belief in the Day of Judgement, Belief in Predestination. Shahada – public declaration of faith, Salat – prayer, Zakat – giving to the needy, Siyam – fasting during Ramadan, Hajj –pilgrimage, or journey, to the city of Mecca at least once in lifetime are the 5 Pillars of Faith. Muslims go to a Mosque to worship Allah. The Imam leads the prayers and the Mullah teaches Islam. The Holy Book of Islam is the Qu'ran which contains the sacred words of Allah. Ramadan is the month of fasting and gives thanks to god for food. Eid al Fitr is the celebration of the end of Ramadan and usually ends with presents, food, and family. The Dome of the Rock is considered a Sacred Place to Muslims and so is Jerusalem, Mecca, Medina.
Mosque
A Mosque is where Muslims go to pray and worship Allah.
Imam
An Imam leads the prayer in a Mosque.
Islamic Symbol
The crescent moon and star have been the symbol of Islam since the Ottoman Empire.
Dome of the Rock
The Dome of the Rock is where Muslims go to pray usually when they go to Jerusalem.
Qu'ran
The Qu'ran is the holy and sacred words of Allah.
Mecca
Mecca is where Muslims go to Hajj and worship Allah.
Abraham and God
Abraham is the common figure for Judaism, Christianity, and Islam because Abraham founded each of the 3 religions. He also is god's messenger. In all three religions, there is only one god like Allah, Yahweh, And Adonai. The religions are all monotheistic.
