Help NMS Build an Outdoor Classroom
We did it! We have met our goal of 2000 pounds of caps!!!!!!!!!
Due to our school community's amazing effort and support we have met our goal to purchase enough benches for our outdoor classroom. We also had enough to purchase a recycling container too. WOW!
We are so proud of our students for taking on this challenge and bringing in their caps to help us meet our goal. Thank you!!!
Our next Green Project...
Trex launches Plastic Film Recycling Challenge for K-12 schools
Warhawks are registered for this year’s plastic film recycling challenge. The 16th annual Trex Plastic Film Recycling Challenge begins November 15, 2022, in conjunction with America Recycles Day. The annual competition challenges students to collect and recycle as much polyethylene (PE) plastic film as possible over a five-month period between America Recycles Day (Nov. 15) and Earth Day (April 22). In addition to earning national recognition, top-performing schools can win high-performance Trex outdoor living products for their campuses, as well as cash prizes to use toward educational programming and supplies. Please review the list of qualifying recyclable materials. Saved materials can be brought to school and deposited in one of our collection bins located throughout the school.
PTO Meeting 6pm Monday, December 12
We will have our next meeting in the NMS Library at 6pm on Monday, December 12.

News from the Nurse
Northwood Families,
Just a reminder that if your student requires any medication to be given or used during the school day, a new medication authorization form needs to be completed by a parent/guardian AND health care provider. If your student uses an inhaler or EpiPen and is able to administer those medications to themselves, then a "Self administration form" needs to be completed by both parent/guardian AND health care provider and returned to the health office. Those are the only two medications that a student may give themselves at school, as long as that form is completed and handed in.
Any ordered medications to be dispensed at school can be dropped off by a parent or guardian. The medication must be in the original, labeled, and unopened container, along with the medication authorization form completed. If the medication is over the counter, it still requires an order medication authorization form. Due to cabinet space, we ask that all medication is in a small bottle.
