LiM Implementation - Leader in Me Family Night
Leader in Me Family Night April 19th 5:30 – 6:30
Coker families are invited to come and have fun at our Leader in Me Family Night. Family Passports will be issued and will get stamped as you travel through our different Leader in Me Habits/Stations. Five stamps will earn the student a spirit stick. Each grade level will have different activities throughout the school. Come see what wonderful things are happening on our campus.
Franklin Covey Contest
We are excited to announce the first-ever, Franklin Covey Leader in Me Student Speech Contest! All students can enter to win by submitting a great 2-minute speech on video before April 30th, 2016. Students will have a chance to win a $500 leadership grant and be featured on both The Leader In Me Blog and YouTube Channel! Students (with help from their parents) can submit a video of a speech they gave at a Leadership Day, at Symposium, in an assembly, in a classroom, or via other creative ways from home. The students that submit the speech will need to be a student from a Leader in Me™ school.
Click here for details about the contest.
PLC Update
In honor of your time, at this busy time of year, we will not have PLC Wednesday on March 23rd . Our PLC goals have been accomplished for the year and the webinars completed. The PLC Friday meetings have also been taken off the calendar. Thank you for your participation in our Professional Learning Community for 2015-2016.
Partners in Education Thank You Event
NEISD's third annual thank you reception for our Partners in Education (business, non-profit and community partners) will be on May 17. I am again asking for your help to make this event a true success.
Last year the student-made items you contributed were the biggest hit of the night.
Small pictures, high-quality artwork or posters and other non-bulky items that are made by students will work perfectly.
Examples of ways you can help:
1. Have students create poetry, artwork--especially anything that could also showcase lessons they are learning-- to give to our community partners. Great examples of this from last year are attached.
2. Do you have a unique aspect to your campus (community garden, club, etc.) that could provide an item? For example—Harris Middle School’s garden grew small terrariums for our partners last year.
3. You can use pictures of students (who have been approved through a release), but please do not include pictures of business partners. I don't want to leave out the other partners attending.
4. If you have a partner to include, please send me their contact information. It must be a partner who has gone above and beyond and is involved with multiple campuses.
If you choose to participate, please drop items off by May 6 or send these items via PONY to central office, care of Amy Lane: Ste. 605.
Science Supplies - PTA Funded
PTA has granted $250.00 to each grade level to purchase Science supplies. Attached please find the request form, which includes instructions on the process.
If you need help, please let me know. If your grade level does not need supplies, please let me know. There many consumables we need for most grade levels.
