Runyan Elementary Mission
At Runyan Elementary, we are a safe and welcoming community dedicated to student-focused learning driven by high expectations for all.
Bilingual Prekindergarten and Kindergarten Virtual Summer School Program
Students currently enrolled in Bilingual Prekindergarten and Kindergarten Program for the 2019-2020 school year are eligible to participate in Conroe ISD's Bilingual Virtual Summer School Program. This program will be offered from June 8, 2020 - July 3, 2020.
If you decide to participate, your child will be assigned a summer school teacher and should complete the program requirements of 120 hours. All 120 hours will not be completed virtually. Summer school teachers will provide a schedule with activities each day for you to complete with your child at home, along with a log to keep track of the hours.
This is a great opportunity for your child to continue learning during the summer to avoid regression and continue to practice important foundational skills. If your child is eligible and would like to be registered for this program, please complete the form found at the link below by May 29, 2020. Please note, this program is not required.

End of the Year Ceremonies!
Teachers are busy preparing grade level award certificates, which will be mailed home with report cards the first week of June.
We still want to have a small event for our students who are graduating this year. We'll have something of a "reverse parade" for our Kindergartners and 4th graders on May 28th. Parents are invited to drive through the car-rider line where teachers and staff will be there to wave and cheer on the kids. Everyone will have to remain in their car and move through the line, but at least it will be an opportunity to mark the occasion.
Kindergarten's parade will be at 9:00 on May 28th.
4th grade's parade will be at 10:30 on May 28th.
We look forward to seeing everyone for the graduation parades -- hope you can make it!
MySchoolBucks
- You can leave the money alone, and it will roll over to next year and be available to the student in 2020-2021.
- You can request a refund by clicking on "Contact Us" at the top of the CISD homepage. Scroll down and click on the MySchoolBucks link. Fill out and submit the form.
Food Resources
We know this is a difficult time, and while our children are not able to attend school we don't want our families worrying about food. Just a reminder there is curbside food pickup at Austin Elementary, Conroe High School, Washington Junior High School, and Hauke Alternative School each Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
If you need additional assistance with food, please use the following link from the Montgomery County Food Bank to find a local food pantry. You can find that information at: https://mcfoodbank.org/find-a-food-pantry-partner-agencies-conroe-tx/
Another resource is 211. You can call to be connected with local resources, or you can go online at: https://www.211texas.org/
We are continuing to work, and as more resources and information become available we will send them out.

Learning at Home -- Instructional Resources
This coming week will be our last week of regular instruction. While not ideal, we hope the remote instruction we've provided has helped your child continue to learn throughout the school closure.
The online instructional materials for the week of May 25-28 will be available by 9:00 AM on Tuesday, May 26th. You may access the digital lessons using the link below. (Next week's instructional plans will not appear until Monday morning. Prior to that, you'll continue to see the current week's plans.)
Paper materials will be available on the Runyan bus ramp from 8:30 - 3:00 on Tuesday, May 26th. This will be a self-serve situation -- while maintaining social distancing, parents may drive up, retrieve the materials they need, and drive away. There will not be Runyan staff on duty to assist this process for most of the day.
As students engage in these learning opportunities, please reach out to your teacher through email or through whatever means s/he has set up for communication. Teachers want to answer your questions, hear how your child is progressing as a learner, help you problem-solve, and generally stay involved in your child's life! At some point we'll all return to school, and we want to be ready for the academic challenges that await!
