FROM SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
It’s hard to believe that this is the last regularly scheduled Lisbon Lines for this school year!
June has arrived and with it comes the final few weeks of our 2021-2022 school year. When we pause briefly to think back, the year has been full of ups and downs, triumphs, and moments of frustration. As we welcomed our students back to school last September, we knew that this year would hold plenty of unknown opportunities. These past nine months certainly delivered in that regard, and we have so much to celebrate together in honoring our students, families, and LES team. We thank you for your ongoing support and dedication. Together, we have accomplished more this year than we thought possible only one year ago. As a school, we are grateful for your partnership.
On the last day of school, June 17th, we will continue our tradition of honoring and celebrating our 5th graders as the whole school claps and cheers for them as they walk out the front doors of LES for the final time before moving to Glenwood Middle School .
We will share a final message for the school year with all of you on the last day of school and send periodic updates and reminders throughout the summer.
Mrs. Anoff, Principal

NEW INFORMATION
Congratulations Mrs. Hastings!
Mrs. Hastings was honored with the 2022 Maryland Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year award. Social studies/history is something Mrs. Hastings has always loved and she is looking for cross curricular connections that take grade-level social studies topics and tie them into her media lessons.
Change in Administration
Mr. Brad Scobie will transition from his role as Assistant Principal at Elkridge Elementary School to serve in that capacity here as our Assistant Principal. Mr. Scobie enjoys a rich history as a Howard County educator, serving for 9 years as an administrator and 15 years as an intermediate educator. He is looking forward to serving the students and families here at Lisbon and will join our community effective July 1, 2022. In a future communication, information will be shared regarding opportunities to meet Mr. Scobie.
Please join us in wishing both Ms. Wright and Mr. Scobie well in this new phase of their administrative journey.

INFORMATION WORTH REPEATING
Chromebooks
Chromebook Summer Storage
HCPSS has been fortunate to have a 1:1 device ratio for most of our students. As we come to the end of the 2021-2022 school year, we will implement the following summer 2022 Chromebook storage and use process for specified grade levels.
Grades K-4
- Student Chromebooks will be stored at school over the summer. Each student’s assigned Chromebook will be returned to them for use during the 2022-2023 school year.
- Students will keep their Chromebooks over the summer and take them to their assigned middle school at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
All students participating in a HCPSS Summer Program, including Extended School Year ESY and ESY-RECC special education, may take their Chromebooks with them for the summer so that they can be used during their program. At the conclusion of HCPSS Summer Programs, students will keep their Chromebooks for the remainder of the summer and take them to their assigned school at the start of the 2022-2023 school year.
Students not returning to HCPSS should return their Chromebook to their home school on or before the last day of school for students. Please look for additional information from your child’s homeroom teacher regarding end-of-year procedures for Chromebooks.
