Message from Campus Principal

Hello McHi parents, community members, teachers and staff. I would like to take this time to let you know about the plans for school from, March 23rd - April 3rd. Our main priority is keeping all of our students safe, while still being able to provide them with the best education possible. We appreciate your patience and support during this time. Please continue to check this newsletter as it will update daily. As you may have heard, as a district, we have decided to move to a level 3. What this means, is that online learning will take place via computer and internet, and some packets of work may be collected. A McAllen High School Staff Directory has been included so that you have readily available each teachers, counselors, and administrators email address. Be safe,

Mr. Canales

All students will access their classes using Google Classroom or other online platform used by teacher prior to Spring Break. All teachers will be available to answer students’ questions during the scheduled class period and throughout the school day.

Be patient as both you and your teachers are going through this learning process together. We will adjust as needed. Please email me at albert.canales@mcallenisd.net or send me a DM through Twitter @mchipride if you have any questions. We believe in you. “We Got This” - Mr. Canales

Health Tips from our McHi Nursing Staff

The top tip: Wash your hands. Why? Viruses can spread from person to person via respiratory droplets. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, close contacts can be infected. In addition, the virus can end up on doorknobs, elevator buttons and other surfaces. If you touch those surfaces and then touch your eyes, nose or mouth, you can become infected.
