March Madness!
We have turned the calendar on February and March is rolling! This month we will celebrate Women's History, Read Across America, and our spring musical, Annie! Read on to find out what else is happening at Sandersville.

Read Across America Spirit Week and International Women's Day
Read Across America is an annual event celebrated on or near March 2nd, which is the birthday of children's author Dr. Seuss. It is a nationwide reading celebration that was created by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1997 to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among children. Sandersville will celebrate with a different theme on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesday, we will join other schools across the district in wearing purple to support International Women's Day. International Women's Day started in 1908, when 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better pay, and the right to vote.

Principal's Message
Dear Sandersville Families,
If you have been following the work of our school board and/or the Sandersville SBDM, both are in the unique time of year with tasks to complete for the current school year while also beginning to plan and prepare for the next school year.
One thing our families can do to help is promote Kindergarten Registration to friends, family members, and neighbors. Kentucky law requires youths between 6 and 18 years old to attend school, and the birthday cutoff to enroll in kindergarten is age 5 on or before August 1st. Have families that are eligible go to this website to begin or call the school for assistance.
If we can help, call the office at 859- 381-4980 or email matt.marsh@fayette.kyschools.us.
Sincerely,
Mr. Marsh
Sandersville Principal
