Cure of Man Born Blind
John 9:1-41
"The Man named Jesus"
A man was born blind and claims that a man named Jesus has given him his physical sight. He says the man grabbed clay from the ground and put it onto his eyes and told him to wash his body in the pool of Siloam.
Siloam
This is the place where the man washed his eyes to wipe off the clay.
The Clay
Jesus is rubbing the clay onto the man's eyes.
Sight
The Man now is able to see things.
A Messiah?
In John 10:17, The Blind Man claims that the man whom healed him is a prophet. In John 10:27, He also claims that we are his Jesus' disciples. The Jews keep saying that Jesus is a sinner because he healed on the Sabbath, but a sinful man cannot perform such miracles as this one. The Blind Man defends Jesus by saying he must be a man from God or he would not to do anything in John 10:33. Is he really sent from God?
Why is this important?
The reason why this event is important in scripture and in the Bible is because Jesus goes and preforms a healing of a blind man, to which the blind man may see again. This was one of the beginning miracles in Jesus's Ministry, and also This shows that Jesus has divine powers that no other mortal has. The Pharisees had the blind man brought to them to ask him questions about Jesus, but all the man proceeds to say is that Jesus had healed them and that Jesus was the Lord. He keeps saying this even though saying things like that at the time could have gotten you killed so this proves this man would have died for Jesus's truth.
