The Weekly Highlander
Volume #27
A Message from the Principal
With spring break only one week away, we are focusing on wrapping up 3rd quarter and looking ahead to registration for the 2023-2024 school year. Our current 8th graders met this week with counselors from the TUSD high schools to get an overview of the courses and programs at each school. Foothill High School students will be visiting campus on Thursday at lunch in the quad to share information about the various programs and meet with students and answer questions. On Thursday, March 30th from 6 pm-8 pm, Foothill will be hosting its Showcase Night where parents and students are invited onto campus to learn more about what it means to be a Knight. More details about the evening can be found at this LINK.
Information about registration for our current 6th and 7th graders has been shared in homeroom over the last 2 weeks. Students are able to select their electives for next year at this time. They should go into their Aeries Portal and select 2 electives and then 1 alternate in case those are not available. Students interested in ASB, Yearbook, AVID, and competitive robotics need to complete applications for these courses. All information can be found on the Hewes Registration PAGE and more details will be shared with students this week in homeroom as well.
With only one more week until spring break, we hope you and your students find meaningful ways in the days and weeks ahead to engage in the Hewes Community!

I Wish Campaign
The Hewes Challenge Success Team is putting out an "I wish..." Campaign to all of our students and staff. This year we would like to include our greater community as well. The "I wish..." Campaign is meant to help us come together as a school community and have a better understanding of each other's experiences here at Hewes. Our goal is to collect the responses and highlight the common themes and then share that out with the Hewes community. This will all be confidential and individual responses will not be shared. We appreciate you participating in this activity and hope that it brings us all a little closer!
