Can you believe that we are already nearing the end of the first six weeks of school? While it has been exciting start of the year getting to know each other, we have also been working diligently to meet our academic goals. For this reason, I would like to invite you to attend a teacher parent conference this upcoming week. The reason for this conference is to share with you your child’s progress and as well as answer any questions that you may have about classroom assignments as well as homework and take home projects or any other concerns you may have. I would also like to take advantage of this time to talk about what we will be focusing on for the next six weeks and some important projects that are coming up.
Parent-teacher conferences are an important tool for both parents and teachers. Students tend to do better in school when parents are involved in their academic lives. You can become involved and help your child succeed by regularly attending parent-teacher conferences. Conferences not only help me to get to know you better, they help me work with you and be on the same page as you in order to help your child reach their academic goals for their success.
Since the staff at Cougarville Elementary cares for the success of your child, we have designated two days in which parents can schedule a conference with their child’s teacher. On these two days, students will be released early from school in order for teachers to be able to have enough time with each child’s parents. The days are Thursday, September 29 as well as Friday, September 30. Conference times will begin at noon and will end at around 4:30 pm. The conference will be held in your child’s classroom and may last from 15-30 minutes. You may decide if you would like your child to be present during this time. I will be sending it out forms with students in the following days which will tell you specific times for conferences. From this form you may choose one of the designated times that best suits your schedule to meet with me. I understand that situations arise and may prevent you from being able to meet with me. If for some reason you can’t make it to any of the times listed on the schedule or are unable to attend due to other circumstances, I encourage you to contact me. You may email me at email@example.com or call 936-396-6393 EXT. 123. I may be able to work with you in setting up another time or work something out according to your needs. The success of your child is my priority, for this reason I encourage you to schedule and attend our first conference of the year. I hope to see you there!
Child care will be provided at no cost by members of our high school FCCLA club. Snacks and drinks for children as well as parents will be provided.
