Thursday's Thoughts & Thankfulness
Principal Hearne's Weekly Parent Newsletter
Week of March 8, 2021
Viper Parents and Family...
Positive Quote of the Week:
"In a world where you can be anything...BE KIND!"
Remote Students:
Students who are failing classes, will need to return to school, for face to face instruction. We want to ensure that all of our students are receiving the support they need.
Remember:
Parents and Families...we need your support!!! The success of your child/children is a top priority to us. Friday's are half-days, however we offer small group high-dosage tutoring and targeted intervention during that time. If your child/children have been identified as needing additional academic support, they will be required to stay on campus so that we can provide them with the assistance they need.
ELAR and Social Social Studies Tutorials and Small Group Interventions:
- Held the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Friday of each month - No tutorials this week!
Math and Science Tutorials and Small Group Interventions:
- Held the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Friday of each month - No tutorials this week!
Testing Updates:
All make up tests for 6th-8th Reading and 6th-8th Math will occur Friday, March 12, 2021. Students can make up the test on campus from 8:30AM-12:30PM or they can complete the test on-line by logging into Eduphoria.
"Logging into Eduphoria instructions"
- Go to Clever.com
- Log in using MS Office
- Enter your email and password
- Find Eduphoria Online
- Login using your ID number and password
- Take the tests, submit your answers once done
Friday, March 12, 2021 will be a half day of school only, dismissal is at 12:30PM. THERE WILL BE NO TUTORIALS THIS FRIDAY, MARCH 12, 2021 IN THE AFTERNOON. ~Kileigh Eblen -
*HAVE A SAFE SPRINGBREAK!!!
*****Please remember to send your child/children to school with their laptops daily, so that they can access the IXL program on their device, during advisory, daily. - This is mandatory, or they will be required to check their school-issued laptop back in to the school immediately, for their individual access to technology during the school day.
In addition, they should work to complete at minimum, 45 minutes of their IXL "Recommendations" each evening, while at home. The IXL "Recommendations" are your child's/children personalized educational pathway, aimed to meet their individual academic needs. (Meet them where they are, and get them to where they need to be...) It takes a village, and we really appreciate your ongoing support!

Stroman Middle School ~ "School Chant"
Please review our school chant with your child, and encourage them to recite it every morning before their first period class.
“I AM SOMEBODY!”
Inspired by Rita Pierson & Les Brown
I AM SOMEBODY!
I was somebody when I came
I will be a better somebody when I leave
I deserve the education that I get here
I have things to do...people to impress...and places to go
I know what I want in life and I will do whatever it takes to get it
I will never allow other people’s opinion of me to become my reality
I AM SOMEBODY!
I deserve to live my dream
I will live my dream
I am powerful
I am R.A.R.E.
I am “Stroman Strong”
I AM SOMEBODY!
"Keys4Success": Vipers are R.A.R.E.
Respectful
Accountable
Responsible
Empathetic
