Why Attend?
In this interactive workshop, participants will study state and federal requirements that guide both program and fiscal operations, with a focus on the changes that occurred under the Every Student Succeeds Act and the Uniform Guidance. Participants will explore how the alignment of program and fiscal procedures can maximize program efficiency and effectiveness. Using the Michigan Department of Education's On-Site Review District Study Guide and other state and federal resources, participants will team up to identify which program procedures are required, what effective procedures look like, and ways to engage stakeholders in the process of developing procedures to move their districts beyond a compliance mindset to commitment. Participants/teams will assess the program procedures currently in place in their districts and develop a plan to address gaps in preparation for their next On-Site Review. Sample templates and procedures manuals will be shared for use as starting points or guides for developing or revising district’s program procedures.
