Dear Valentine Hills Community:
Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. We are excited to be a place where each student will learn and grow this year. We know we can only do that with everyone’s good, hard work. We will be asking the students to take academic risks, families to support and encourage, and teachers to personalize for each child.
The beginning of the school year can come with a variety of emotions, ranging from anxiety to excitement, and we know those emotions can also co-exist. We are coming from different places to a single school, and we welcome each child and family to this place.
We are committed to partnering with all members of our school communities to ensure safe, healthy spaces that affirm the identity of each and every student, leveraging the assets they bring. We do this in service of safe, welcoming spaces for all students to learn in, for all staff to work in, and for all community members to visit.
To all our students and families, we welcome you.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Samec, Principal

Digital Backpack-New Way to Access Flyers
In the past, families looking for Community Education offerings, before- and after-school activities and community-organized events received a list of web links in each school enewsletter. To simplify these communications and distribute them in a more timely fashion, the District is partnering with a new digital backpack communication service called Peachjar. This fall, Mounds View Public Schools families will receive e-flyers via a “digital backpack” email that will deliver straight to your inbox on Fridays.
Here's how this will work:
No action is required on your part.
You will receive a welcome email from our service provider (Peachjar) that includes a username and password. This is provided to give you the opportunity to manage your account and flyer delivery preferences. You do not need to login to receive or view school digital flyers.
To ensure smooth delivery of this communication, we suggest you add “school@peachjar.com” to your email contacts.
When you receive your first eflyer, be sure to click “always display images.”
You can also visit your school’s website to see school-approved digital flyers. Simply click the Peachjar button on each school’s website.
This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose. Questions? Email peachjar@moundsviewschools.org.
Note: Peachjar is free to our schools because community partners pay a small service fee to post and distribute digital flyers (typically much less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers).
