We had our first Parent-Teacher Organization meeting on Monday night in our Centerview backyard by the playground. The BYOC (bring your own chair) brought familiar and many new faces as we set the stage for a great partnership in the 2021-22 school year. We provided an overview of our PTO, school and district updates, a recap of past activities, a budget update and we discussed our upcoming fall fundraiser. Stay tuned next week for specific information around our fall Funny Fun Run to be held at the end of October. What a great start!
COVID-19 continues to be prominent throughout the community. We continue to experience high transmission in Anoka County, and we do have active cases. The numbers are updated each Wednesday on the COVID-19 hub. At this time, Centerview is not at any threshold that would require additional mitigation strategies.
We want nothing more than to keep in-person learning going for all students at Centerview and across our district with minimal disruptions. This goal will take all of our efforts to achieve and we need your help right now in three ways:
- Please keep your child home if they are sick or have symptoms. If they come to school with symptoms, we will isolate them from others and send them home.
- Please keep your child home if you are waiting for a COVID test result.
- Please communicate with our health office – about illness, symptoms and testing. This helps us understand what is happening within our school so we can work to keep Centerview safe for all.

Some Centerview students are currently reading a story about a character who is traveling from Iowa to Texas and back. Students got the chance to take a close look at the map of the United States to get a better understanding of the character's traveling route.
