REAGAN ROADRUNNERS
August 14, 2022
WELCOME BACK, Reagan Families!
Friday the 19th is the first day of school! We ask that you snap your back to school pictures at home and say goodbye in the car to keep our morning arrival running smoothly.
The first few weeks of school always prove to be a bit hectic during our dismissal until everyone gets back into the routine. Be patient in the pick up lines as it is a bit slower in the beginning, but will continue to become more and more efficient as time goes by. ALL vehicles in the pick up line will need to have a car tag, which you can get at Back to School Night or pick up anytime in the front office with a valid picture ID.
Our faculty and staff have returned from summer and are working hard to prepare for your students. We are looking forward to the best year ever!
Back to School Night Information
Reagan Back to School Night is on Wednesday, August 17, from 5:30-7:30 PM.
Class lists will be posted on the doors by 5:00 PM on this day. If you do not see your child's name on a class list, this indicates an issue with enrollment requirements and you will need to go directly to the library upon arrival.
We have two sessions scheduled and have divided them based on students' last name. Please arrive within the specified time listed below to avoid parking issues.
*5:30-6:15: Session 1: Last Name A-M
*6:45-7:30: Session 2: Last Name N-Z
If you are new to Reagan, this is an opportunity for to come meet the teacher and see your child's classroom. School supplies can be dropped off in your child's classroom during this time. NPS Transportation, AlphaBest and PTA will have tables set up during the evening as well.
KONA ICE will be here for Back to School Night! Bring cash if you would like to purchase snowcones!! They will be located in the back of the building near the playground.
Health Office Update
If your child has medicine that must be administered at school, you will need to come by the nurse's office before the first day of school to complete a Medication Request and Release Form. Ms. Courtney Atkins, our health assistant, will not dispense medicine at school until we have this form completed. You will have an opportunity to complete this form at Back to School Night, however it will require a provider's signature as well. Below is the district informational link concerning student health. Please reach out to Ms. Atkins if you have additional questions.
Arrival / Dismissal Procedures
School Doors will open at 7:25 AM.
Please do not drop off students before 7:25 AM.
Car Riders: PreK, Kindergarten and 1st Grade students will use the south loop (old bus lane) for both arrival and dismissal. If you have multiple children in various grade levels, older siblings will be expected to arrive/dismiss in the south loop with their younger siblings. Buses and daycares will also continue to use the south loop. 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th grade car rider students will arrive and dismiss in the same car rider loop on the north end of the building. All car riders will need the car tag to be visible during student pick-up. This is helpful and necessary for our duty teachers to identify family vehicles and keep the line moving for a smooth and seamless dismissal.
Bus Riders: Bus riders will arrive in north loop /Bus riders will dismiss in the south loop.
Day Care: Students arrive/dismiss on the south end of the building.
Walkers: Students arrive/dismiss through front/back doors.
*Reminder: PreK students cannot be walkers or bus riders.*
Cafeteria Visitors:
If a parent wishes to eat lunch with their child, they may check them out during their lunch/recess time by coming to the front office. A parent may occasionally eat lunch with their child in the cafeteria, but we do not encourage this as a frequent practice. Lunchtime is a great opportunity for students to gain independence and socialize with peers. There is a special table in the cafeteria where parents may eat lunch with their child if they choose to do so. Parents may not accompany their child to recess after lunch.

Newsletter: Norman Regional Health Kids Virtual Care
NPS is proud to partner with Norman Regional Health System to offer Norman Regional Kids Virtual Care to our students while they’re still at school and being seen in the nurses’ office. Norman Regional Kids Virtual Care allows your child to do a virtual visit with a local licensed provider or pediatrician with the help of the nurse so your child can be seen and diagnosed quickly. If a prescription is needed, the provider will send the prescription to an identified pharmacy of your choice. Insurance is filed for each visit and the visit will cost your child’s normal copay for a Primary Care visit. There is a cash pay price of $60 per visit for children without insurance. Charity care is available through the clinic.
