Alta Mesa Parent Newsletter (1/19/21)
Remember Dr. Martin Luther King
We begin our second week back in physical instruction by remembering a great man, Dr. Martin Luther King. Dr. King stood with peace and integrity in a turbulent time. Many of his ideas and teachings are things that we should remember in our own challenging times. One of his great quotes that I like to use with our students is, "The time is always right, to do what is right." I hope that during the course of this week we are all able to take a page from Dr. King's book.
Last week all parents received a message that our school is currently in "outbreak" status. That is due to our site having 3 positive cases. The definition of "outbreak" status as defined by Cal-OSHA is any place of work with 3 or more people infected with COVID-19. I want to assure parents that our students are safe and our safety precautions are working to mitigate spread. The school will not be closing due to the outbreak. We work very closely with our school health staff and public health to ensure a safe environment for our students.
Thank you to our amazing Alta Mesa Community for working through the challenges thus far in the New Year. Please review the rest of this newsletter for more announcements and information for the week.
