Spotlight - Tech Integrator

Jane Shanks was spotlighted as a Tech Integrator on October 28, 2015. She is a Social Studies teacher at Guilford Middle School and is an ITPLN participant. Ms. Shanks loaded an article on the Amplify tablet Playlist for her students to read and find examples of global conflicts. Once students had read and made notations on the article, they were asked to respond to a question using Padlet (Web 2.0 Tool). This was an awesome way to engage students learning with questioning and writing through technology.

Northwood Elementary was spotlighted as a Tech Integrator because their students participated in a demonstration by Cranium Core, a Web 2.0 based program, that uses higher order thinking questions to encourage collaboration and improve comprehension skills. In addition, this is an excellent tool that would support the Instructional Framework of T3 and T4 core concepts of Questioning and Writing.
