Here is what to expect:
-Link Crew leaders (juniors and seniors) will be trying to contact all students via phone or email by the end of this week.
-Students are to arrive at the high school around 7:45am and hang out in the commons and we will direct them the rest of the day!
-Students DO NOT bring a backpack and dress comfortably.
-Students will be picking up their school ID during the day and they will need them to access their lunch accounts.
- School breakfast and lunches are NOT free this year. The cost of lunch this year will be $3.15. Be sure they bring cash or have money in their lunch account or bring their own lunch.
-Students will meet link crew leaders, receive welcome messages, small and large group activities, lunch, tour the building, walk through their class schedule, and school pictures will also be taken in the middle of the day.
Our junior and senior Link Crew Leaders have gone through three days of training and are VERY EXCITED to make our freshmen orientation at Hastings High School a wonderful experience!

2022-2023 Meal Prices & Free and Reduced Price Meals
On August 31, 2020, the federal government announced free breakfast and lunch for all students across the nation's districts until June 30, 2020. This waiver was extended until the end of the 2021-2022 school year. At this time, the free meal waiver will not be extended past the end of the 2021- 2022 school year (June 9, 2022). Effective September 2022, families will need to fill out a free and reduced meal form to receive free breakfast and lunch meal benefits for their children. Those families who do not qualify will need to pay for school meals. The price for meals will be;
Breakfast
9-12 $1.50
Lunch
9-12 $3.15
If you filled out an application in 2021-2022, your current benefits will remain until October 18, 2022. Then, you will need to submit a new application to have benefits continue for the 2022-2023 school year. The 2022-23 Free and Reduced Meal Application will be available online this summer on the district website under Food Service and will be mailed out to families.
