PTO Buzz
We are actively collecting gifts for the Toys-for-Tots drive. Please drop-off new and unwrapped presents in the bin outside the office. These will be delivered to Brighton Ford by the PTO to count towards their competition between the schools to receive funds.
A fun stocking stuffer to consider might be a magnet of our therapy dog, Suzie. If interested, please send a dollar with your student’s name, grade and teacher to school in a baggie. Request forms also should be in the take-home folders.
Yearbook photos are still needed. Please be sure that you are sending photos with children whose parents approve their pictures being published. Email to Harrismz@gmail.com
The Lost & Found is overflowing again and we will donate items to charity next week.
Forms for the Glow Dance in January are also coming home with your child. Next year, we will host a talent show too, so start practicing your acts!
Our next PTO meeting is January 12th.
Next week's events:
Thursday: Last day to drop-off a toy at Brighton Ford for the Toy’s-for-Tots event. Santa and snacks at Brighton Ford from 5-8pm. The Brighton Elementary School with the most toys wins $3000 from Brighton Ford. $1000 for 2nd and 3rd place schools.
December 12th: we will start our Coat & Boot drive. If you’re starting to sort winter wear, keep clean and lightly worn items in mind for this event. New items will be very welcome as well.

BAS Mental Health and Wellness
As a district we are increasing our efforts to support the Mental Health and Wellness of our students, families and the community. We are increasing our efforts on Relationships, Student Wellness, and Increasing a Mindset for Learning and Growth. These Tips/Resources are one of the many ways we are increasing our efforts. Additional resources and information can be found on the BAS Wellness & Mental Health website.
Attention Livingston County Parents!
In an effort to proactively support students' overall well-being, we're partnering with ParentGuidance.org to provide a monthly virtual Mental Health Series developed by licensed therapists.
This series will be virtual, interactive, and is designed to help parents and caregivers support students. Starting in November, you can join these monthly sessions both on-site at your district or online for remote viewing. Attendance and interactions are kept completely anonymous from other viewers.

Friendly Reminder - Therapy Dog
We wanted to share a friendly reminder to our families about pets on school grounds. Because our school has a therapy dog, we ask that non-service animals be kept at home. This is for the safety of our therapy dog, Suzie. When Suzie is at school she is trained to do a job. When other dogs are on the property during school hours it is distracting for her and/or could put her in potential danger.
Thank you for understanding.
Important Reminder!
Reporting Your Student's Absence in Parent Connect
There is a helpful feature in Parent Connect that allows you to enter your student’s absence. Simply log into parent connect and click on the link Report Absence. The Report Absence link will open a screen for you to complete. If you have more than one student check the name of the student for whom an absence is being submitted. Add the applicable dates. If you check the All Day flag attendance will be submitted for the am and pm periods. If you do not check the All Day flag times must be entered and attendance will be submitted for whichever periods meet during the time range (based on period schedule). If you use Parent Connect to report your child's absence you do not need to call the attendance line.
