Forest View & Forest Lake Elementary
Welcome Back to School!
Dear Parents and Students,
I am excited to be able to teach math interventions again this year. This will be
my 5th year in the Forest Lake District supporting students in the area of math. I will
spend my mornings at Forest Lake working with 4th grade students and my afternoons
at Forest View working with K-3 students.
I have lived in the area for 21 years now with my husband and two daughters.
Jessica will be attending college this fall and Allison will be completing her junior year in
high school. In my free time, I enjoy spending time on the lakes just floating or
waterskiing at sunset.
I grew up in Dayton, MN and attended Anoka High School. I obtained my
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota in Duluth
along with a minor in mathematics. Currently, I am completing my second year at
Concordia University in St. Paul to pursue my master's degree in Educational
Technology.
Last spring, I was honored to receive a technology grant from the Forest Lake
District in order to purchase three iPad to use with students during small group math
instruction. Each student uploaded various examples of learning onto their own website
which we refer to as an ePortfolio. This electronic portfolio is much like a scrapbook as
we can archive math related school work from year to year. I am looking forward to
sharing your child's ePortfolio with you during conferences this fall.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time if you have general questions
or specific concerns regarding your child's progress in math this year. I can be reached
by phone or email. I am also available before and after school if you would like to talk in
person.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Elizabeth Baxter
