Annual Benefits Option Period – October 1 – 15, 2022. Every employee who is currently enrolled will receive a pre-printed option period form at the end of September. Any changes for 2022 need to be made on that form and returned to Joann Adair (certified) or Erica Sanchez (support) in the Benefits Department. Please watch for more information from the Benefits Department in the coming weeks.
Global Compliance Network – Tutorials must be completed by October 1st.
Frontline Central - Annual Employee Forms (Criminal Record Questionnaire, Annual Benefits Summary, and Employee Social Media Policy), Support and Certified Wage Calcs, and Support Contracts were all distributed through the Frontline Central system on Monday, August 22, 2022. The due date for these documents to be electronically signed was Friday, September 2, 2022.
Reduce Unfilled Absences - Recently, one school had 9 unfilled absences on a particular day. All 9 absences were called in after 9pm the night before the absence. Statistically, 75% of all unfilled absences occur when the teacher/classroom assistant submits the request less than a day before it is needed. While we know there are emergencies that cannot be pre-planned, encourage your teachers to submit planned sick, personal, and professional day absences days and weeks in advance. Please remember to schedule all personal days WELL in advance and please inform your grade level admin. There are few - if any - circumstances where a personal day would be entered the day of the absence.
Donors Choose - The foundation and the donors choose folks have had to do a little reboot on their contract which will work out in our favor. You are typically allowed a $100 kick start from the foundation on your first donors choose for the year. However, they are going to reboot this for this year. Even if you have already received that amount - you are eligible to get it again. This will start on or after the 20th of this month. (Available while supplies last)

Preparing for Substitutes or Coverage
We are still in a sub shortage. Eileen is amazing and has even called people on the sub list to try to fill our jobs.
Teachers and staff will still get sick, need to go to athletics, need to go to professional development, and have last minute family needs. As a work family we need to support one another by being prepared for our sub job to go unfilled or for the unthinkable situation. Our staff will be in your room covering when this happens.
How you can be prepared for covers or a substitute?
- -Seating Charts-created in infinite campus with student names and pictures. Print for you classroom sub folder. Need directions- click here
- -Complete the district substitute form- print and put in your sub folder for your classroom and your sub folder in the office click here to download and complete in adobe.
- - Emergency lesson plans- prepare an emergency lesson plan and put it in your classroom sub folder, make copies ahead of time and put somewhere in your room, leave instructions on where to find the copies, make an answer sheet to go with them
- -Divide your grade level advisory kids by 3-4 kids and assign them to their team and grade level advisory class in their team/grade level. Let their teachers know who will be coming when you are gone. Advisory Teachers by grade and team click here
- -If you know you will be gone, the day before, write the agenda, special instructions, and objective on the board for the students and those who will be covering.
- -If you didn't know you would be gone, prepare an email with details to send to a teacher friend, administrator(s), and Eileen so that it can be written on the board and left with the substitute notes. Be sure to tell them where your classroom sub folder is located so it can be left out for the day.
- -If it is a last minute absence text the following people-Karyn Garcia 405-408-5064, LInk Lowe 918-373-1859, Michelle Grinsteiner 405-229-6912, Eileen McGuire 405-471-7335
Remember most know how to teach and we want your lesson plan to engage students the whole class period.
Special Reminders When Cheyenne Staff Cover a class:
- If you are the first cover for the day for a teacher who is absent please come by Eileen's desk to pick up the teacher's sub folder between 7:10-7:35 to take with you. Then leave the folder and the contents in classroom for day so covers have all the information need.
- Attendance Roster Sheets need to be returned to the office with a responsible student after you take attendance during that class period.
- If you are the last cover for a teacher please gather the substitute folder with key and return to Eileen.
ID Badges
Just a reminder all students and staff should wear their IDs daily.
All students should have an ID. If you have a student that never received an ID please send their name to the Lindsey Robinson.
Any student who has lost an ID will need to buy another one. $5.00
