The Flock Report

Innovation Lab High School ~ May 2022

A word from the principal's desk...

It’s hard to believe that May has already arrived. Spring has definitely sprung! We’ve had an amazing three week stretch here at the end of April and the beginning of May.

We had an absolutely phenomenal event celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd. Sophomore (and ASB President-Elect) Victoria Tchervenski did an amazing job organizing and running the event. Students reactions to the day were overwhelmingly positive, as they had the opportunity to learn from various experts about our environment and what each of us can do to make a positive impact.

This week, we are eagerly anticipating our second annual Better World Day. Students will be culminating projects they’ve been working on all year with the focus on making an impact on the world around them. I want to call out the incredible hard work of Dr. Stacey Hutchison as our Better World Day coordinator, and of two students in particular. Katie Snyder and Joel Shernicoff have done an amazing job organizing the logistics for the event. I can’t wait to see all the awesome presentations of our students’ work on May 6th!

That’s it for this month. Continue to stay healthy and stay safe!

2020 224th Street Southeast

Bothell, WA

Do you know of a family who's looking for a new educational option? Could expeditionary learning be for them? Innovation Lab is hosting a Prospective Family Night for those attending other middle or high schools in the area that might be interested In ILHS for the 2022-23 school year. This information night will further explain how our learning model is a newer alternative, how the mastery transcript works, and the benefits of applied knowledge in today's world.

Looking ahead to June...

DEVICE COLLECTION: For any and all families planning to leave Innovation Lab when school is out, even if you're going to another school in the Northshore School District, you will need to plan on returning student Chromebooks and all accessories on Wednesday, June 15th. The devices are property of ILHS, not the district. When you enroll at your next school, your student will be issued a newly updated device. Please mark your calendar!

MOVING AWAY? If you know you will be moving out of the Northshore School District and are not planning on continuing attendance on a variance, please remember to let our registrar know that you need to withdraw. We cannot send documents to your new location until your withdrawal here is complete.
