WZES Family Newsletter
Hello, Bulldog Families!
October is here. The first quarter will end on Friday, October 13th. There will be NO school on Monday, October 16th for a Teacher Work Day.
In September, Pasco County Schools focused on improving attendance at all schools. Our average daily attendance for September at West was 91%. Our 5th graders had the best attendance for the month averaging 93% of the grade in attendance every day! Our goal is for 95% of our school to be in attendance each and every day! We understand that children get sick, but we are hopeful that we can have more students here each day!
Congratulations to the following classes for the best attendance in September...
KG -Hagelin
1 -Richey
2 -Bolt
3- Bee/James
4- Buckler
5- Orcutt

Attendance
Help Your Child Succeed in School: Build the Habit of Good Attendance Early
Great attendance increases academic achievement due to more instructional time. Missing even two days a month means missing 10% of the school year. #ShowUpWalkProud #SchoolEveryDay
What you can do:
- Make school attendance a priority. This includes arriving to school on time each day.
- Talk about the importance of showing up to school every day.
