From the Lion's Den
York Center Family Newsletter 5/20
On Wednesday our 5th graders enjoyed a day of fun and learning at Schafer school for the District PTA Council sponsored STEM Day! What an incredible day for our students! 5th graders from the entire district attended this event. York Center students and staff looked great in their "Class of 2019" t-shirts thanks to our York Center/ Stevenson PTA!
Thank you to all of the parents that volunteered and helped make the day so successful!
If you arrive after students have entered the building at York Center.....
Students are expected to be here by 8:05 am when they enter into the building to be ready for the day. When they arrive after that time, it is challenging for them to be ready for instruction when the bell rings for learning at 8:15 am.
Thank you for understanding.
Why is Reading over the Summer important?
If children aren't engaged in reading over the summer, not only do they not make any gains in reading, they actually LOSE the gains they made during the school year!
Special Visitors
We continue to supervise this very carefully to make sure our students are a safe distance away (we have a much larger area cordoned off around this site), while enjoying a little Science lesson in our own backyard.
York Center Backpack
We are always adding new things here as they come to us!
